House Party BIC® Soleil® Sunny Moments House Party™

I applied for this and hopefully I will get it. I know there are a bunch of us that love to scrapbook I think this would be really fun.

If you haven't visited the House Party website before you should check it out.

Get ready for Memorial Day!

Look for and hold onto the following types of coupons:
Hotdogs, Chips, Pop, Pickles, Ketchup, Mustard, Sausages, and anything BBQ or Picnic related.

Stores will be having great sales on these products heading into Memorial day weekend and I'm sure we'll make some great Match-Ups.

Online Coupon Class Part 2 ~ The Coupons

#2 Be Prepared

Get Your Coupons

Tomorrow is SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY! and that means new coupons. There will be two new inserts, one from RedPlum and one from SmartSource. To see a complete list of all the coupons that will be included, click HERE. Also most store's circulars run Sunday through Saturday, so those will be reset tomorrow as well.

Here are the links to some of the online printable coupons:

thekrazycouponlady.com has an online database which you can access HERE. I often find, however, that some of these can be expired. I don't use it that often but if I am looking for a specific product, it's a good place to check.

Now, some will say that you need to subscribe to 4 or 6 Sunday papers. I bought 4 Sunday papers the first few weeks. You will make your money back. But, It just wasn't necessary for me. I subscribe to one Sunday paper. I get extra ads/coupons from my in-laws. I check the previews online Saturday and if there is a great coupon for something I will buy extra papers the next day. If something is a great deal, you can always use a coupon clipping service. They may charge $0.20 a coupon but if you need a great $3.00 it's worth it. For the most part I find myself getting rid of lots of expired coupons that I clipped and using mostly online or electronic coupons. Electronic coupons are coupons that are preloaded onto your club cards. Safeway and Fred Meyer both participate in this. You just need to go their websites and register.
*** UPDATE I now buy full inserts online. By far the best way to go for me!
Also Coupon Savvy in Cowlitz Co. Has a great deal with The Daily News $32 / mo for daily delivery and 10 xtra papers on Sunday!

Know the best sale price for the products you buy on a regular basis. Make a list and keep it in your binder.

Find the Match Ups

A Match-Up is when you pair your coupon with a great deal. Let's use diapers at Target for an example. Lets say that the box of diapers you normally purchase is $19.99. Target has a buy two get a $5 gift card. You have two $3.00 off Huggies Manufacturer's Coupon and you printed two $2.50 off Huggies Target Coupons. You can use one Manf coupon and one target coupon per box and then get a $5 gift card. So you end up saving $8 per box instead of $3 per box if you had just run out to Target the first day you saw the Huggies Manf Coupon in the paper. This is how thekrazycouponlady.com displays their match-ups:

Dove Men + Care Body Wash, $1.98 clearance price
Use $1.00/1 Dove Men + Care product from 3/27 RP
And use $1.00/1 – Dove Men + Care product – (target.com)
Final Price: FREE!

$1.00/1 means one dollar off of one product and 3/27 RP means that this manufacturer's coupon was available in the RedPlum insert on March 27. Some people clip all of the coupons. I clip what I normally buy and then I date and keep the rest of the inserts in my binder. This way it is easy to find when I see a match-up like this.

So, #3 Be Patient wait for a better deal. Coupons run in three month cycles so another one will always come around. Know what your stockpile price is and buy product when it hits that price.

I am not going to reinvent the wheel on this blog. One of the best places to find coupon match-ups is HERE. Sometimes I notice how I can make it better and I will pass that info on. But The Krazy Coupon Lady keeps it updated really well. She also lets you look by store, which is really helpful.

Free Luna Protein Bars at Safeway

This is a good example for the newbies. Check this out.

Through April 26th, Safeway has Luna Protein Bars on sale for $1.00
Mambosprouts.com has a coupon for $0.50 off Luna Protein Bars.
Safeway doubles manufacturer's coupons up to $0.50
Making these bars FREE!

When printing coupons using the link above: Most online coupon sites allow you to print two coupons per computer. DO NOT SCAN COUPONS! Two per computer period. If you need more and it's something you've got to have (I'm not sure protein bars qualify lol ) then hit up family and friends to help you out.

How to double coupons @ Safeway:
Doubling means that your $0.50 coupon is now worth $1.00
In every Wednesday's paper, or in the Safeway store, the Safeway ad has a small coupon that lets you double up to four manufacturer's coupons. Just take this with you, no need to fill it out, and give it to the cashier with your other coupons. Some coupons say "DO NOT DOUBLE" so just look for this before you use it.

Also if you don't get the paper and Safeway is out of ads, the Wednesday Safeway ad can be found all over Longview in the "Neighbors" paper. They have copies at Prospectors and Indy Diner. You just have to be creative but you can find them. Safeway in Woodland still had a ton when I was there tonight.

So to score this deal. Print your luna coupons above. Get a hold of a Wednesday Safeway ad (I have extra's if you are desperate and have exhausted the options above) and clip your Double Coupon. Take these to Safeway and get your free bars. Now, this is good until the 26th so if they are out of stock (which they will be if you wait too long) they will probably get more in before the luna coupon expires. Just remember that the double coupons start over each Wednesday. Questions, holler. Let me know if you try this and how it works for you!

Online Coupon Class Part 1 ~ Tools of the Trade

Here are some simple coupon rules that I live by:

1. Be Organized
2. Be Prepared
3. Be Patient
4. Be Polite
5. Pay it forward
6. Prioritize

#1       Be Organized

There will be so many different stores, policies, websites, and deals that it will be impossible to keep everything straight without being organized. Unless you have a successful system that works for you, you will not reach your savings potential and may decide that all of the work just isn't worth it. So, make it easy on yourself. Make a plan and have the proper tools to execute it.

           The Tools
3 inch Three Ring Binder That's right, the big boy. I'm not going to lie; You will probably feel like an idiot the first few times you lug that thing into Safeway.  But wouldn't you feel like a bigger idiot if you continued to overpay for groceries by hundreds of dollars? My first month of using it, I would sometimes leave it in the car if I was just popping in for one or two items. BIG mistake. Every time without fail I would run across something on sale that I could have paired with a coupon and gotten for free. I got tired of always going back out to the car, so now it is with me always.
30 Trading Card Protectors These are the perfect size for coupons and allow you to easily see and organize your coupons into different categories. If you don't want to preclip your coupons you can just use 8 1/2 by 11 sheet protectors and organize your entire ad by date with the intention of clipping as you buy. We will go over how each method works in a later lesson.
Table of Contents/Dividers There are a few templates on the Internet that you can start with. I have found that it's best to make your own. Some people organize their binder by aisle, some by food categories, some by store. Here is the list I started with (Thanks thekrazycouponlady.com ). I have since modified it to work better for me.
The Current Coupon Policies for the stores that you shop You are going to be doing some things with coupons that no sane person would think possible. But, they will all be totally legal moves. From time to time you may run into a cashier that challenges your coupon policy knowledge. This is usually a new cashier, but sometimes even managers may be unaware of their store's policies. This is when you can politely provide them with your copy of their policy. Most major stores post their coupon policy on their websites. Target Walmart Walgreens RiteAid  If you need one not listed here, you can always email the store and request one if you don't see it on their website.
Printer Ink and Paper I use more online coupons than ones found in the newspaper. No, you will not spend more in ink than you save. But, you don't want to miss out on a great deal because you ran out of ink or printer paper.

To be continued....

I hope to share what I've learned with you, so that you will be shaving down your grocery bill in no time. Think of all the things you can do with that left over cash.
